What is the meaning of „networking“ in the Gemeinsinn-Werkstatt? How does running networks develop? Which example shows the speciality of networking in a Gemeinsinn-Werkstatt?

Definition

“Networking” is daily life of every human being. “Social nets” develop and dissolve. We are supported not only by ONE but by MANY nets. A “network” defines itself through the content of its “work”.

Networks are more flexible and open than longerlasting organisations. They are established continuously by concrete activities, give and take of each member on the base of synergy. But also each organization builds on networks of volutary and financed workers, partner-institutiones, customers or guests. To support living networking in and with established structures more than rules and regulationes are needed.

Networking Projects

Networking in a Gemeinsinn-Werkstatt leads to voluntary cooperation in project-networks. According to their concrete interests, the networking persons and institutions take over tasks and responsibilities. When synergy develops the network will go on self organized.

To support a participation process on a larger scale of voluntary engagement, professional consultants who create the models for the advancing process, have to be involved at the earliest stage possible. Similarly, tasks for which the volunteers do not have the appropriate know-how can be supported by professionals or freelancers and so relieve the volunteers of strain.

Delegation with Task-Profiles

As shown in the example of Frankfurt/Oder the Gemeinsinn-Werkstatt offers a project structure to coordinate the allocation of tasks in cooperative processes. The diagram shows three areas of responsibilities (task areas) with three further task fields each. This offers both transparency and options for participation throughout a certain time span. The volunteers are now able to choose a role according to what they can, like and want to do.

Agreements are built on personal motivation, self- and corporate responsibility, thus creating a system of decision making and representation which is both flexible and robust on a long-term basis. The most motivated person will be in charge of coordinating work in a particular task area and field during a fixed time span and of beneficially assigning responsibilities. In case the initiative-, project-, event- and action circles are not yet able to cover all task fields, further motivated people and institutions can be asked to participate.
